What this is
NFI Sourcing is an internal shipment operations platform for a freight brokerage. Two things run on it. Carrier sourcing tracks the lanes a customer needs covered, the carriers approached for each one, and the rates that came back. Issue alerting reads a shipment issue report as it arrives and makes sure somebody is told about every problem that has gone unresolved.
It is a tool for our own workforce rather than a consumer service. There is no public sign-up: accounts are created by invitation, and every page beyond this one requires one.
The alerts it sends
When a shipment issue is still open after 90 minutes, the people covering that load’s region at that hour are emailed. If it is still open at 3 hours, they and the region’s backup contacts are emailed again and sent a text message. That is the whole of it: operational notices about work in progress, sent to the people responsible for it. No marketing.
Everyone we text has agreed, individually and in advance, to receive these messages at their own mobile number. Message frequency varies and depends on shipment activity, not on a schedule we set. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help.
